Qt Software to discontinue Qt Jambi after 4.5 release

Preview of Qt Jambi Version 4.5.0_01 Release Available

Oslo, 19 February 2009
- Qt Software today announced that development on Qt Jambi -- a port of Qt to the Java programming language -- will be discontinued in order to focus resources on the Qt cross platform application and UI framework. Qt Jambi will be maintained for one year after the March 2009 release of Qt Jambi 4.5.0_01, and will be made available upon release on http://labs.qt.nokia.com under the LGPL license.

To help faciliate the continued development of Qt Jambi, Qt Software will host and help maintain a community-driven Qt Jambi implementation.

In addition, Qt Software today released the Technology Preview of Qt Jambi 4.5.0_01. Qt Jambi 4.5.0_01 is scheduled for launch shortly after Qt 4.5 in March 2009.

Download the Technology Preview

The Technology Preview of Qt Jambi 4.5.0_01 includes all new features to be released with Qt 4.5, including performance improvements and an upgrade of the Qt WebKit Integration. The newly added Qt 4.5 support for 64-bit Qt-based Mac applications on top of Apple's Cocoa framework will not be provided in Qt Jambi 4.5.0_01. Source packages are available for download under a special Technology Preview license:
