Qt 4.5.3 and Updated Visual Studio Add-in Released
New Visual Studio Add-in to replace Qt Visual Studio Integration, and can be used together with Qt under both commercial and open source licenses.
Oslo, 01 October 2009 – Nokia today announced the release of updates to Qt: the cross-platform application and UI framework, and to the Qt Visual Studio Add-In: a tool that allows developers to use Qt together with Microsoft Visual Studio, regardless of the license they choose. The Qt Visual Studio Add-in replaces the Qt Visual Studio Integration, which was not offered beyond the Qt 4.4 series and will now be officially discontinued.
All releases are available for download from http://qt.nokia.com/downloads
Qt Visual Studio Add-in 1.1
Version 1.1 of the Qt Visual Studio Add-in allows developers targeting the Windows platform to use Qt and Qt developer tools from within Microsoft Visual Studio. It replaces the Qt Visual Studio Integration, which was offered until Qt 4.4.3. Support for the Visual Studio Integration will now be officially discontinued. Unlike the former Qt Visual Studio Integration, which was available to commercial Qt license holders only, the Qt Visual Studio Add-in 1.1 can be used together with Qt under both commercial and LGPL licenses, and is freely available for download from http://qt.nokia.com/downloads.
Qt 4.5.3
Qt 4.5.3 includes bugfixes and optimizations made since the release of Qt 4.5.2. For detailed information, please consult the changes 4.5.3 file found in the packages, or browse the information contained in the Qt Developer Zone at: http://qt.nokia.com/developer/changes/changes-4.5.3.
Qt 4.5.3 is available for download separately, or as part of a new build of the Qt SDK (Build 2009.4). The Qt SDK contains everything needed to begin cross-platform development with Qt, and is freely available for download at http://qt.nokia.com/downloads.
