Qt Creator IDE Beta Released

GPL source code now available through publicly accessible repository

Oslo 18 December, 2008 Qt Software today released a Beta of Qt Creator™ – the new cross-platform IDE for use with the Qt application framework.   With today’s release, the complete Qt Creator source code is now available under the GPL via a publicly accessible repository, giving beta testers full visibility into Qt Creator as it’s developed.  Preview packages are also available to commercial and open source users for download, testing and feedback.


The beta incorporates feedback from the many downloaders of the first Technology Preview release, and provides an early look at a set of features tailored to the needs of developers using Qt and C++ to create cross-platform applications. The final release of Qt Creator is currently scheduled for early 2009.

 

Publicly Accessible Source Code Repository

Beginning with the Beta release, the complete Qt Creator source code will be made available under the GPL through a publicly accessible source code repository.  The repository provides testers with complete visibility into the Qt Creator source code and development process as the product evolves toward final release. Download the Beta

The Qt Creator beta is now available under both the GPL and a special Beta license.  Packages are available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux/X11 platforms.  To download Qt Creator, visit the downloads page.
