Qt Certification Program

Introduction

The Qt Certification Program provides instruments to measure individuals’ Qt competence level. The Qt Certification Program, together with Qt in Education, Qt Curriculum, Qt Training and future e-Learning solutions, forms the complete Qt Learning offering.

With the Qt Certification Program and the certification exams we aim to help Qt users enhance and document their Qt knowledge. The Qt Certification Program will evolve to encompass more certifications and designations from beginner to advanced level in the future.

The Qt Certification Program’s mission is to contribute to the success of Qt by building a community of qualified Qt developers. More qualified Qt developers will result in better Qt based products, which will lead to a larger number of satisfied end users and customers.

Assessment creation

Qt exams are developed in several steps, and in tight collaboration with field experts and Qt developers with different levels of knowledge. The exam content is based on Qt Curriculum.

The following steps form the exam development process:

  • Development of questions and other types of tests according to and objective of Qt Curriculum
  • Expert review of developed content. Relevant to assigned objective, importance and complexity
  • Score setting and score balancing in conjunction with market leading computer testing infrastructure provider
  • Internal and external beta tests of complete exam
  • Public release of exams
  • Maintenance and updates of existing exams

Nokia employees drive the development process, but we always make sure we include industry and technology experts in early phases of the process to ensure a broad and objective view of the assessed knowledge and skills. Engaging with the Qt ecosystem in the development processes also allows us to discover new trends and needs in the marketplace.

Exam releases and validity

All assessments are subject to continuous improvements and corrections, meaning that released exams may be modified for quality improvement purposes. However, these modifications will not affect the validity of already passed exams.

Attained exam results have no expatriation date. An assessment refers to a version of Qt Curriculum, which is the main driver for assessment content. Some assessments may also refer to the version of Qt that it’s relevant to, but this is more relevant in the case of more specialized and advanced assessments with a larger dependency on specific Qt functionality.

The scope of knowledge and skill set which is expected at a given designation level, is defined in the curriculum and referred to in the exam certificate.
