Our advice to software engineers wanting to advance their career working on Qt is to become a Nokia Certified Qt Developer. It is an industry-recognised qualification that will instantly make them more employable and prove their expertise. Qt Certification also adds value for us by allowing us to feel confident in the skills of new employees.
All of our developers are Nokia Certified Qt Developers and we indeed see great value in this. As a business, having all of our developers Qt Certified has already helped us put a stronger case of our capabilities to customers and prospective customers. Specification of Nokia Certified Qt Developers will soon become a standard request from customers in the bidding process.
We believe in Qt Certification to such an extent that we only employ Nokia Certified Qt Developers. The examination is available all over the world and is simple to take but thorough and very well constructed. Qt Certification allows Qt specialists to prove they can pass a credible examination that was actually created by Qt.
I just took the "Qt Essentials" exam while attending aKademy 2010 in Tampere. I have to say that I was impressed by the test. The questions were on the right level of difficulty and covered a good number of different APIs. I would say that the exam does a good job of measuring Qt knowledge, giving the certificate real credibility. Well done!
Now that I am a Nokia Certified Qt Developer in Spartans<T> our customers think differently when it comes to mobile development. For me personally opportunities are popping up and I plan to continue this journey. I am looking forward to having more exams from the Nokia Qt Certification program.
The first reason to take the test for me was to test my Qt knowledge. The second reason was, because I'm a big fan of Qt and the Trolls. Qt Certification has helped me get projects because clients are more confident in my knowledge and skills. At this point I also want to thank all Qt Support Engineers for their great help. They saved my life in a difficult problem when deploying an application on Mac OS.
