Qt Solutions Catalog - Components for Qt version 4

The following is an overview of the currently available Qt Solutions. The list will regularly be updated with new components and tools. Please see the technical guide for general information on how to install the packages, and supported and unsupported packages. More detailed descriptions of each component and tool are accessible from the list below.

All components are available under both open source (LGPL) and commercial licenses.

New Qt APIs

• New Qt APIs for mobile development
  These new Qt APIs, not only enable Qt developers to include standard mobile functionality in their applications, but also provide useful application functionality across desktop platforms.

Extensions and Frameworks

• Qt/MFC Migration Framework 

  The Qt/MFC Migration Framework tool assists in the migration of existing Win32 or MFC applications to the Qt toolkit.

• Motif Extension 

  The Qt Motif extension assists the migration of old Xt and Motif based applications to the more comfortable Qt toolkit.

Styles

• QtDotNet Style 

  An alternative, modern GUI look for Qt applications on Windows

Widgets

• Color Combo Box  

  A combobox widget with colors and texts.

• Color Picker  

  A widget that lets the user select colors from a grid of predefined colors.

• Color Triangle  

  A color selection widget based on the hue-saturation-value (HSV) color model.

• Copy Dialog 

  The Copy Dialog component provides copy functionality with a progress dialog.

• MML Widget 

  The QtMmlWidget component renders mathematical formulas written in MathML 2.0.

• Pie Menu 

  The Pie Menu component provides circular pie menus.

• Property Browser 

  A property browser framework enabling the user to edit a set of properties.

• Spellchecking TextEdit  

  The QtSpellCheckingTextEdit widget provides a text input field with spell checking.

• Thumb Wheel  

  The QtThumbWheel widget provides a vertical or horizontal thumb-wheel widget.

• Toolbar Dialog    

  The Toolbar Dialog component provides customizing functionality for toolbars.

• Window Menu  

  The Window Menu component provides a popup menu that contains a list of windows that are currently displayed in a QMdiArea.

Utilities

• Browser Plugin  (Updated!)

  The QtBrowserPlugin solution is useful for implementing plugins for web browser.

• QtIOCompressor 

  QtIOCompressor is a QIODevice that compresses data streams.

• Image Filters 

  This component provides image filtering functionality.

• JPEG 2000 Image Format 

  The JPEG 2000 Image Format provides a QImageIOHandler plugin for reading and writing JPEG 2000 files.

• libxml2 reader 

  A SAX2 parser based on libxml2, with a QXmlReader interface.

• Locked File  

  The QtLockedFile class extends QFile with advisory locking functions.

• QtScript Classic  (New!)

  This component provides the original (pre-Qt 4.6) implementation of the QtScript module.

• Service 

  The QtService component is useful for developing Windows services and Unix daemons.

• Single Application  

  The QtSingleApplication component provides support for applications that can be only started once per user.

• SOAP (Updated!)

  The Qt SOAP project provides basic web service support with version 1.1 of the SOAP protocol.

• Telnet  

  A client for the telnet protocol. 

Earlier Components

The following components are no longer maintained in Qt Solutions. Typically they have migrated into, or have been replaced by equivalent functionality in, Qt itself.

• Qt Animation Framework   

  Provided in Qt 4.6 and later.

• Calendar Widget

  Provided in Qt 4.2 and later in the QCalendarWidget class.

• QtCompletor

  Provided in Qt 4.2 and later in the QCompleter class.

  Provided in Qt 4.2 and later in Qt's Undo Framework.

• Unit Test Library (QtTestLib)

  Provided in Qt 4.1 and later in the QTestLib framework.

• Qt Windows Forms Interop Framework
