Royal Philips Electronics, one of the world’s biggest electronics companies and Europe’s largest, is the winner of the iF Design Award 2006 for the Qt technology-based VP 5500 Home Video Phone, a wireless video solution for domestic use. The product receives and sends real time video to your friends and family wireless with your handset. The user can see and share video calls on TV. The design focuses on 3 main contexts of use: face to face conversations show a moment and be part of an event. The follow-up model, VP6500, also running a Qt Extended based software stack, is already in shipment.
